OPPRESSION BY JESSICA THERRIEN REVIEW

SUMMARY:

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than average people, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Some are waiting for her to put an end to centuries of traditions that have oppressed their people under the guise of safeguarding them. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning - and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.

My review
I waited for what felt like years to obtain this book. The last time I remember looking so hard for a book was for the Twilight book when it first came out. That was a while ago. When I was unable to find it ZOVA books was nice enough to send me a copy so Thank You ZOVA <3

First off like I said with Goddess Interrupted I never read these kind of books and much to my surprise I love them.I got this book and read it in 5 hrs with a few interruptions of course .
As soon as I got home I jumped for about 20 min until I realized I was wasting precious time. I could have read a few pages in the 20 min where I was acting like a 16 yr old again and just got my first car.

So now onto the book! This book turned into some serious action within the first few pages . This was the best part. Usually you have to wait until the middle of the book to have some serious conflicts. This made it a real page turner all the way to the end.

Elyse is inspiring to me. I could never imagine going through what she went through and yet she still comes out being so caring . Honestly if I was in her shoes I truly believe I would be more selfish. I mean this girl doesn’t get a break. Her whole life was challenge after challenge.Thankfully William comes along and changes everything. I mean I was so happy to see Elyse smile. Obviously I cant see her smile because it’s a book but if I was smiling at William I know she was too.William is so sexy and so tempting.I feel like Jessica was teasing me the whole way through the book. Thanks Jess for the sense of Euphoria and lust !!!!!!!!!!!

Kara surprised me towards the end I seriously thought it would be someone else there for Elyse.

Ryder honestly makes my blood boil like what a jerk !!!!!!! ugh like I cant even talk about him. He likes to play with people and that just isn’t cool in my books.

Honestly I think every character was well written! I found myself feeling like I can definitely date this person or be best friends with this person or at least relate to them.

Anna makes me want to have a blood sister I mean I have best friends but the love her and Elyse share is more then best friends. I find it hard to believe a friend like that exists outside this book!!! If it does , send them my way.

My final thought : MOVIE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. WOW!! Last week, if you asked me whether or not I heard about Oppression, I would've said, "Not really," but now you have me super excited to get my hands on a copy! I'm actually a huge Greek mythology fan, so this is definitely right up my alley! :)

Awesome review! I always love it when every single character is well-written! ;)
