Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry (Book Trailer Thursday)

An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie Mc Garry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighbourhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Rogue by Katy Evans Review

Rogue By Katy Evans
Kindle Edition288 pages
Published July 29th 2014 by Gallery Books

The fourth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller Real, featuring Brooke's best friend, Melanie, and the ROGUE she can't resist.

Greyson King...
My boyfriend. My friend. My protector. He's the reason I wake up every morning with a smile on my face, and the reason I fall asleep limp, worn out, and aching for his warm arms around me. When we make love, he says my name like it means something. Like I mean something.
He
Lied.
His name is Greyson King, but his alias is Zero.
There's zero trace of him, he has zero past, and now I know that with him, I will have zero future.
He may leave no trace of him anywhere, but his imprint is in me, in my very soul--and I hate that a mere look at him commands the beat of my heart. The temperature of my body.
I've looked for love my entire life. I've waited for the butterflies, the rainbows...
Instead I'm in a free fall of emotions and there's no one to catch me but the one man I should be running away from. The one man I thought was my prince charming.
Except this prince charming went rogue.

Greyson will stop at nothing to make me be with him. He'll let no one stand in our way, will allow no one to threaten me, and maybe this is what scares me most of all...
What will my rogue do to keep me?

My Review:

Told in two POV's Rogue takes us on a journey, where fate brings two unlikely stubborn people set in their ways together in a story of lust, danger and love with a dash of The Princess Bride thrown in.

The plot of this story was intriguing and well done in my opinion. It was interestingly different from the rest of the series. Although   I found Katy's writing to be repetitive at times, she drew me in and I found myself devouring the book in one sitting mainly because I couldn't get enough of Greyson.

Greyson King is one sexy beast with his filthy mouth, dangerous allure and possessiveness. Greyson cannot let anyone into his life, he lost his humanity thirteen years ago and now all that's left of him was Zero his alias.

Greyson is given a list of debts owed to his father, once every debt has been paid off, he will inherit The Underground along with the location of his mother. Melanie is one of the names on his list, he has no choice but to cross her off, but he delays the inevitable because she slowly becomes his Achilles heel. I guess his "Princess" really is a damsel in distress. Although he needs to keep it professional he finds himself drawn to her. He wants to be the man Melanie deserves, but because of who he is, he struggles with wanting to be with her. And keeping her safe at the same damn time.

"what this woman wants is something I can't give. But i'm pulled , twisted, knotted, used, and useless when I look at her."

“He laughs more darkly.
You are so fucking mine you don't even know how mine you are.”

We were introduced to Melanie in the beginning of this series as Brooke's best friend. Even though she was a bit wild at times I didn't really mind her. That was until I got to see know who she really was and I hate to say it, but I did not like her. I found her naive and annoying most of the times. Sure, she's sweet, playful and thoughtful at times, but she's not the brightest. I mean, how many frogs does one girl have to kiss before she realizes she must be doing something wrong? and let's not even get me started with the events of her birthday.

"Brooke said you were my Real. That’s what she calls the love of her life now. But you are not my Real, Greyson. You’re my knight in leather gloves who went rogue."

I found myself yelling at Melanie multiple times, like really? are you that foolish? he's everything you've always wanted and dreamed of but you're willing to walk away just because things aren't easy? ugh forget it....

Oh, but wait, true love always finds a way back to you, no matter what. Right?

“I look at him and he doesn't scare me. He lures me. He tempts me, exhilarates me. He makes me want to claim him as if I'm claiming back a part of me that was once lost. Makes me want to tame him. Let him tame me.”

Luckily for Melanie, she got her fucked up version of Westley back. It only took her being kidnapped and saved by Greyson for her to realize how real their love really is and the way Greyson took care of her afterwards melts my damn heart. Thank god there was no Epilogue wedding because I still think that Melanie has a lot of growing up to do before she says I Do.

Final thoughts

Through her writing Katy shows us that we can't help who we fall in love with, love finds us when we least expect it and no matter how afraid we are of it, it wouldn't be real unless it terrifies us. Love is messy, untamed and raw and most of all it is never easy.
In an ideal world you could only love the perfect man but it's not an ideal world and Katy slams us with a dose of reality every step of the way. Were always chasing perfection, each and everyone of us. If you don't agree then you're only lying to yourself.

Even though I found Greyson to be mouth watering, my heart will forever be bound to Riptide <3 I can't blame Melanie for being obsessive with Brooke and Remy's relationship. I would be too, their
love for each other is captivating. Maybe I'm just a sucker for MMA fighters, but Greyson just couldn't reach the top for me in this series. Sorry Greyson, you're still a sexy book boyfriend that's for sure, but Remy is the ultimate "Alpha male".

Resentment By Nicole London

Re•sent•ment

The act of hating – no, fucking loathing Dean Collins. (Yes, I’m well aware that’s not the actual definition, but it might as well be . . .)

It’s been ten years since we've seen each other and the feelings are still as strong.

I’m not going to bore you with all the details of how our love was once intoxicating, consuming, and perfect.

Because it was . . . until it wasn't.

I've been fine without him. I haven’t missed his cruelty, his coldness and his spite.

And after the ugliest breakup in the history of breakups, I forced myself to move on.

Year by year, the feelings I had for him slowly drifted away, but one encounter with him recently changed everything. One encounter made me realize how the heart doesn't forget shit, and how my mind is going to have to work overtime to make sure I never forget my definition of resentment

THE CAGE Official Book Trailer

The Cage (The Cage #1) By Megan Shepherd

The Maze Runner meets Scott Westerfeld in this gripping new series about teens held captive in a human zoo by an otherworldly race. From Megan Shepherd, the acclaimed author of The Madman's Daughtertrilogy.

When Cora Mason wakes in a desert, she doesn't know where she is or who put her there. As she explores, she finds an impossible mix of environments—tundra next to desert, farm next to jungle, and a strangely empty town cobbled together from different cultures—all watched over by eerie black windows. And she isn't alone.

Four other teenagers have also been taken: a beautiful model, a tattooed smuggler, a secretive genius, and an army brat who seems to know too much about Cora's past. None of them have a clue as to what happened, and all of them have secrets. As the unlikely group struggles for leadership, they slowly start to trust each other. But when their mysterious jailer—a handsome young guard called Cassian—appears, they realize that their captivity is more terrifying than they could ever imagine: Their captors aren't from Earth. And they have taken the five teenagers for an otherworldly zoo—where the exhibits are humans.

As a forbidden attraction develops between Cora and Cassian, she realizes that her best chance of escape might be in the arms of her own jailer—though that would mean leaving the others behind. Can Cora manage to save herself and her companions? And if so . . . what world lies beyond the walls of their cage?

Somewhere There Is Still A Sun: A Memoir Of The Holocaust By Michael Gruenbaum With Todd Hasak-Lowy (August 2015)

Resilience shines throughout a boys firsthand, present-tense account of life in the Terezin concentration camp during the Holocaust, an ideal companion to the bestselling Boy on the Wooden Box.

Michael & Misha Gruenbaum enjoyed a carefree childhood playing games and taking walks through Prague with his beloved father. All of that changed forever when the Nazis invaded Prague. The Gruenbaum family was forced to move into the Jewish Ghetto in Prague. Then, after a devastating loss, Michael, his mother and sister were deported to the Terezin concentration camp.

At Terezin, Misha roomed with forty other boys who became like brothers to him. Life in Terezin was a bizarre, surreal balance some days were filled with friendship and soccer matches, while others brought mortal terror as the boys waited to hear the names on each new list of who was being sent to the East.

Those trains were going to Auschwitz. When the day came that his family's name appeared on a transport list, their survival called for a miracle one that tied Michael's fate to a carefully sewn teddy bear, and to his mother's unshakeable determination to keep her children safe.

Collaborating with acclaimed author Todd Hasak-Lowy, Michael Gruenbaum shares his inspiring story of hope in an unforgettable memoir that recreates his experiences with stunning immediacy. Michael's story, and the many original documents and photos included alongside it, offer an essential contribution to Holocaust literature.
