Fall For You By Cecilia Gray

Author: Cecilia Gray
Release Date: February 10, 2012
Publisher: The Alpha Division, LLP

Pages: 128
Age Group: Young Adult

 Summary:
Jane Austen meets Pretty Little Liars in this fresh, new young-adult series! * * * The last thing that the girls at the elite Jane Austen Academy need is hot guys to flirt with. Please. They need to stay focused on something that lasts much longer: an acceptance letter from an Ivy. But over the summer the school has been sold, and like it or not, the guys are coming. And it's about to turn the Academy--and the lives of its students--totally upside down... * * * To say Lizzie and Dante are polar opposites is the understatement of the century. He's a snooty Exeter transfer with more money than Google. She's a driven study-a-holic barely keeping up with tuition. It's obvious that Dante thinks he's way too good for Lizzie. And Lizzie knows Dante is a snob with a gift for pushing her buttons. But things are changing fast this year at the Academy. And when Lizzie's quest to stop those changes blows up in her face, taking her oldest friendship with it, she has nowhere else to turn but to Dante, with his killer blue eyes, his crazy-sexy smile, and his secrets... Secrets Lizzie can't seem to leave alone, no matter how hard she tries...

My review:

First off I wish this book wasnt short because I personally loved it!
It was different to pick up a book that had nothing to do with the paranormal.
I loved how easy this book was to relate to.

Lizzie is my favourite shes so blunt!!

I love how she doesnt care and speaks her mind.

Dante sounds so yummy. I love when a guy plays hard to get and then hes a real softy towards the end of the book.

Honestly I hated that the book ended so soon! author told me the second book is from another characters point of view so I cant wait to get my hands on it

I WILL LIKE TO GIVE A BIG THANK YOU TO CECILIA FOR SENDING ME A COPY OF THIS BOOK FOR REVIEW . YOU HAVE ME HOOKED GIRL;) NOW HURRY UP WITH THE SECOND ONE BECAUSE IM VERY IMPATIENT

THE GATHERING BY KELLEY ARMSTRONG

Author: Kelley Armstrong
Published by: Harper Teen
Released on: April 12th, 2011
 Pages:368
 Age Group: Young Adult

Summary:

Sixteen-year-old Maya is just an ordinary teen in an ordinary town. Sure, she doesn't know much about her background - the only thing she really has to cling to is an odd paw-print birthmark on her hip - but she never really put much thought into who her parents were or how she ended up with her adopted parents in this tiny medical-research community on Vancouver Island.

Until now.

Strange things have been happening in this claustrophobic town - from the mountain lions that have been approaching Maya to her best friend's hidden talent for "feeling" out people and situations, to the sexy new bad boy who makes Maya feel . . . . different. Combine that with a few unexplained deaths and a mystery involving Maya's biological parents and it's easy to suspect that this town might have more than its share of skeletons in its closet.

In The Gathering, New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong brings all the supernatural thrills from her wildly successful Darkest Powers series to Darkness Rising, her scorching hot new trilogy.

My Review:

This book was was totally different than my usual pass by bookstore and grab a read that has to do with vampires, angels or werewolves. To be quite honest I didn't even read what this book was about. I saw it was by Kelley Armstrong and I grabbed it. I love fellow Canadian Kelley. Her writing style is amazing.

This book is about a girl named Maya. Maya was adopted when she was a baby. She struggles in this book to find herself and find out where she comes from. She has love for the outdoors, mountain lions and Rafe.

Rafe is the new guy who showed up at her school. He's tough around the edges and chases every girl at school only to break their hearts.

Rafe has an eye on Maya but Daniel doesn't let him get to close.

Daniel is Maya's best friend and Honestly Maya if you don't want him can I have him ???
Daniel is dreamy and understanding and popular and sexy and I can go on all day.

Maya learns about where she comes from and all of a sudden her life makes sense down to the paw print birthmark she loves.

Rafe helped her find her identity and Daniel never left her side when he found out the truth.

This book is awesome.. A must read and now I cant wait for the book signing so I can get my hands on The Calling which is the second book in this series.

oh BTW has anyone seen the book trailer for the calling . AWESOME!!!!

TORN BY AMANDA HOCKINGS

Summary :

When Wendy Everly first discovers the truth about herself--that she's a changeling switched at birth--she knows her life will never be the same. Now she's about to learn that there's more to the story... She shares a closer connection to her Vittra rivals than she ever imagined--and they'll stop at nothing to lure her to their side.

With the threat of war looming, her only hope of saving the Trylle is to marry a powerful royal. But that means walking away from Finn, her handsome bodyguard who's strictly off limits...and Loki, a Vittra prince with whom she shares a growing attraction.

Torn between her heart and her people, between love and duty, Wendy must decide her fate. If she makes the wrong choice, she could lose everything, and everybody, she's ever wanted...in both worlds

My Review:

So like I said in my Switched review I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! it's way better than the first.
This book saved the series for me.
In this book you get all the action you expected from the first book.

I feel like the first book was only a mere introduction to everybody!! Boring except for Finn.;)

In this second book I feel like Wendy changes a little bit. She has everything she ever wanted, but it's not enough for her.

now off to my favourite part of the book- the boys of course!!!!

Finn - I honestly thought in this book it would be all about Finn and Wendy being together.
boy was I wrong. I love Finn I feel like Wendy and him belong together . He's charming, polite, protective and sexy.

Loki- Where did this boy come from?? At first I'm like he's such a tease . Loki is confident all the time which makes you think he has a big ego!!!. Well hes basically the male version of me ! lol
In the book I'm like ugh Wendy don't waste your time. By the end I saw a different side to Loki that changed my mind completely I mean WOW!! you just have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about.

Tove- This guy is good. Kinda reminds me of Finn but in a less sexy way and more of a powerful way that can make any girl go crazy. I don't want to ruin the book but let me tell you its a roller coaster ride for Wendy and Tove.

and what about Wendy?

Wendy finds out who her father is and that is a surprise to all. She has all these sexy guys chasing after her. I admit I'm completely jealous but common she barely spoke to anyone before finding out she was a troll princess. Now she has all the guys at her feet its just not fair!!!

Anyways the first book was a 2/5 bookmarks but this second book is 5/5 bookmarks
and for those who haven't read this series yet I saw at walmart yesterday that these books were 40% off go check them out.

SWITCHED BY AMANDA HOCKING

Summary
: Amanda Hocking is an indie publishing sensation whose self-published novels have sold millions of copies all over the world, and Switched is the book that started the phenomenon. Prepare to be enchanted…

When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. Eleven years later, Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. She's not the person she's always believed herself to be, and her whole life begins to unravel-all because of Finn Holmes.

Finn is a mysterious guy who always seems to be watching her. Every encounter leaves her deeply shaken…though it has more to do with her fierce attraction to him than she'd ever admit. But it isn't long before he reveals the truth: Wendy is a changeling who was switched at birth-and he's come to take her home.

Now Wendy's about to journey to a magical world she never knew existed, one that's both beautiful and frightening. And where she must leave her old life behind to discover who she's meant to become…

As a special gift to readers, this book contains a new, never-before-published bonus story, "The Vittra Attacks," set in the magical world of the Trylle.

My Review:

So this is my first book that touched on the whole troll thing. I thought I would like this book but I decided to give it a go since I absolutely loved the cover! YES I'm on those who judges a book by its cover I'M GUILTY!! but I can't help it.

So like I told Lisa I'm not sure how I feel about this book.

I wasn't in love with it, it was an alright read for me. It was boring in the beginning. I thought the main character was a brat! the whole mother thinking she was a monster was too dramatic for my liking and her brother controlling obsession with Wendy was just so weird!

I didn't want to bash the book entirely because there were some parts I liked.

I mean how can you not like Finn?? He was the only person to get me to keep reading it .The end the book was really interesting and appealing to me. I wanted to read more so I picked up Torn the second book in this trilogy.

Without ruining my Torn review soon to come.I'll just say I'm glad I picked up Torn because it was way better than Switched and it actually made me like this series. I'm surprised usually in a series the first book is amazing and the second book always fails in comparison but this time the second book saved this series for me and I can't wait for Ascend to come out in paper back in April.

OPPRESSION BY JESSICA THERRIEN REVIEW

SUMMARY:

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than average people, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Some are waiting for her to put an end to centuries of traditions that have oppressed their people under the guise of safeguarding them. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning - and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.

My review
I waited for what felt like years to obtain this book. The last time I remember looking so hard for a book was for the Twilight book when it first came out. That was a while ago. When I was unable to find it ZOVA books was nice enough to send me a copy so Thank You ZOVA <3

First off like I said with Goddess Interrupted I never read these kind of books and much to my surprise I love them.I got this book and read it in 5 hrs with a few interruptions of course .
As soon as I got home I jumped for about 20 min until I realized I was wasting precious time. I could have read a few pages in the 20 min where I was acting like a 16 yr old again and just got my first car.

So now onto the book! This book turned into some serious action within the first few pages . This was the best part. Usually you have to wait until the middle of the book to have some serious conflicts. This made it a real page turner all the way to the end.

Elyse is inspiring to me. I could never imagine going through what she went through and yet she still comes out being so caring . Honestly if I was in her shoes I truly believe I would be more selfish. I mean this girl doesn’t get a break. Her whole life was challenge after challenge.Thankfully William comes along and changes everything. I mean I was so happy to see Elyse smile. Obviously I cant see her smile because it’s a book but if I was smiling at William I know she was too.William is so sexy and so tempting.I feel like Jessica was teasing me the whole way through the book. Thanks Jess for the sense of Euphoria and lust !!!!!!!!!!!

Kara surprised me towards the end I seriously thought it would be someone else there for Elyse.

Ryder honestly makes my blood boil like what a jerk !!!!!!! ugh like I cant even talk about him. He likes to play with people and that just isn’t cool in my books.

Honestly I think every character was well written! I found myself feeling like I can definitely date this person or be best friends with this person or at least relate to them.

Anna makes me want to have a blood sister I mean I have best friends but the love her and Elyse share is more then best friends. I find it hard to believe a friend like that exists outside this book!!! If it does , send them my way.

My final thought : MOVIE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Im so excited and worried at the same time. I really dont want to be dissapointed if it isn't

I hate the waiting game!!!!!!!! so not fun.

Linger By Maggie Steifvater

Summary: In Shiver , Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love—the light and the dark, the warm and the cold—in a way you will never forget.

My review :

First off I love this series !!! even though I like Shiver much better this was still a good read.
It took me a little longer to read linger because I was able to actually put this book down a few times because it almost seemed predictable to me even the ending didn't catch me by surprise.

The one thing that I loved about this book is that Sam and Grace are finally together!!! I mean you wont find me complaining about Sam being around. ;)

I actually really like Cole . In the beginning I was unsure and thought he was a useless character ,just there to add some drama to the plot. By the end of the book I actually enjoyed him. I feel like without Cole this book would be boring.

Sam is still the same, except I found him less romantic and less charming in Linger but that could be just me.

Isabel surprised me a little I like her in Linger alot better than Shiver .

I thought Olivia would be around for this book but I guess not ,so maybe in the next one.

I honestly don't want to go into more detail since I know Lisa is dying to read this book and she will kill me if I say another word!

I'll let Lisa go into more detail once she's done reading this book.

JESSICA THERRIEN INTERVIEW !!!!!

So I had the pleasure of interviewing Jessica.
Let me start off by saying Jessica is the sweetest Author I have ever met she's so down to earth. I can't wait for the mailman to bring me my copy of this book!!!!!

Oppression (Children of the Gods #1) by Jessica Therrien

Summary:

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Among so many of her kind, she should not be very remarkable--except for the prophecy. Some believe she will put an end to traditions, safeguarded by violence, which have oppressed her people for centuries. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning--and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.

INTERVIEW TIME !!!!

1. When did you begin writing?
I’ve always loved writing. I wrote stories and poems before I ever set out to write a book, though. I’m not exactly sure when I started writing Oppression, but it took about one to two years.

2.What inspired you to write your first book?
I was inspired by the YA genre itself. I fell in love with the stories and honestly became a YA fanatic. After searching a while for the next “big thing” in YA without finding anything that really grabbed me, I set out to write it myself. I figured I knew what it was I was looking for in a YA book…I might as well just write the dang thing, lol.
3. How did you come up with the title?
The book was originally titled The Descendants. It was good and it fit, but George Clooney basically decided to copy me. He came out with a movie titled The Descendants, so my publisher and I sat down all day to hammer out a new one. When the CEO of ZOVA Books said the word Oppression, it clicked.

4. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Nobody has asked me this yet, so I’m glad you did. I would say the message is that love is very powerful, and no matter where life takes you, love will conquer all.

5.Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Much of the book is based on memories from my own life. The love story is inspired by the love between me and my husband. Anna is based on my best friend. The book is very close to me.

6 .If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in the book?

Yes. Haha…but the book industry doesn’t work like that. I’ve recently fallen in love with the first person present POV. I love the way a book reads when written that way. A little secret is that I wrote book 2 completely in first person present just to create that fast-paced flow, and had to go back and change it to past tense to be consistent with book 1. I would have loved to write book 1 in first person present.

7.Do you have any advice for other writers?
My advice is always the same. Go to a writers’ conference. You’ll meet great people, have a lot of fun, and you may even catch a lucky break. I did!

8.Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank you. Your amazing reaction to my book has been the best feeling ever. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!

Jessica is currently writing book two in her CHILDREN OF THE GODS series.

Thank You Jessica

Goddess Interrupted By Aimee Carter

First off thank you Harlequin for sending me a copy of this book for review.
I just received it today and already cant put it down. Makes me want to study mythology.

This book will be released on March 27 2012.

Summary :

WHAT IF IMMORTALITY ISN’ T FOREVER?
KATE WINTERS HAS WON IMMORTALITY.
BUT IF SHE WANTS A LIFE WITH HENRY IN THE UNDERWORLD, SHE’LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT.
Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.
As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths ofTartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the oneperson who is the greatest threat to her future.
Henry’s first wife, Persephone.My thoughts:

First of all thank you Aimee for not using the greek names all the time. I’ve never been interested in greek mythology before so if Aimee always referenced the gods in the book I would be completely lost.AS IM WRITING THIS IM STRUGGLING WITH MYSELF!! I WANT TO WRITE ABOUT THIS BOOK FOREVER BUT I CANT BECAUSE THEN I WOULD SPOIL IT FOR EVERYONE.

This book is not the type of book I pick up and to be honest with you I prob wouldn’t. I’ve never even heard about the first book which I might add that I will def pick up by next week.I never wanted this book to end. I fell in love with the story. I never picked up a book I never liked because I always go for the same ones , fallen angels ,werewolfs, vampires, witches etc. I love all my books and theyre different of course but always what I expected them to be. I lost the element of surprise.

How can I explain???Its kinda like when your kid. You ask your parents for dolls ,movies etc and you always got them . Of course it was a perfect gift and made you truly happy deep down inside you knew it was coming! Reading this book for me was like asking my parents for a doll and then when my birthday arrived a received a puppy instead. This book made me jump with excitement after reading just a few pages.

This book was intense and I loved every moment. I even for this first time cursed that I had to be up early the next morning because I didn’t want to put it down without finishing it. Last night I didn’t care how long it took or how grumpy I was this morning I was determined to finish the book I started the previous night. Mission Accomplished.

I am grumpy this morning and not because of the lack of sleep because I would pull an all nighter for this book, I was upset because it was over!

=(

Not only was it over but the author added such a cliffhanger for the closing of the book that made me scream. I now await for the release of the 3rd book.
It was easy to relate to every character of this book. For instince Persephone.Every girl has had a sibling that was completely perfect, that could do no wrong and made you feel like you failed in comparison. Henry was every typical guy I ever dated. Hard on the outside but soft in the inside just took EONS to get a glimpse of any kind of emotion.

Ok now I feel like truly going to ramble on and spoil the book.I guess you guys are going to have to buy the book to relate to how I feel right now.

Trust me you wont be disappointed.Aimee has truly made me become interested in Greek mythology and books relating to it. I will never walk by those books again. It takes a lot to change my mind or my view on things especially types of books I like. My fiancé would be shocked if he knew someone actually changed my persepective on things.

GOOD JOB AIMEE !!!

My Reply To Kelly's post on Shiver .

Well let’s start off me saying Kelly I have apologized for interrupting your date with Sam but it was just because I had to see him one last time well a couple of last times I took it hard when it was over and still am so please be gentle with me.

Now as for Robert Pattision playing Edward in the Twilight books its true he is not what I pictured as Edward at first but I have grown to adore him and the role he is playing it’s also true I was one of the first to knock Mr R Pattz I even kept telling everyone he sucked but what I came to realize is Robert is quite a good actor I have watched other movies of his and was impressed. So summing it up Robert can be my Edward any day.

Now on to who I think would be the best choice to Play Sam in the Shiver Books I have 2 choices and here they are the reasons why. 1st choice Sam Wesley as his character on VD he is loyal, honest, gentle and sweet just like Sam is with Grace some of the quality’s Sam has. Now my 2nd choice would be Ian Somerhalder as his character on VD he is rough, aggressive he’s the anti-hero who surprises you every time but he also is the one who will stop at nothing to protect the one he loves just like Sam does with Grace yet again so to sum it up if It was possible to merge these two into one that to me would be the perfect Sam I girl could only dream.(◡‿◡✿)✰Lɪsᴀ

                                                                Paul Wesley

Ian Somerhalder

Shiver By Maggie Steifvater

So I just finished this book. I'm not going to do much of a review since Lisa already has. What I can tell you is that I almost killed Lisa for being a third wheel on my date with Sam.
Every time he took me away I would have Lisa message me on facebook. I honestly never thought a book would make it to become my favourite book of all time considering before Shiver my favourite books of all time was the Twilight series.

So when I woke up this morning I continued my date with Sam and picked up Linger to read. I only wished that Sam was real because OMG he is so dreamy!!!!

I also just discovered that they are making a movie about the book. How amazing is that. I mean I'll actually get to see Sam in action and not just in my head.

I only hope when they cast for his part I'm not disappointed, like I was when they casted Robert Patterson for the part of Edward in Twilight. I mean Rob is a good actor but definitely not the Edward I pictured every time I got carried away in the books.

They haven't released the date yet for the movie but they are saying that it will be sometime in 2014.

Who would you guys cast as Sam if you had the choice???? please let me know

I for one would cast Thomas Dekker as the part of sam. Just toss some yellow contacts on him and he's perfect
*Kelly*
