Review :The Forsaken By: Lisa M Stasse

The Forsaken (The Forsaken, #1)Title: The Forsaken
Author: Lisa M. Stasse
Genre: Young Adult, Dystoipan
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication Date: July 10 2012
Hardcover: 375 pages

Summary:
As an obedient orphan of the U.N.A. (the super-country that was once Mexico, the U.S., and Canada), Alenna learned at an early age to blend in and be quiet—having your parents taken by the police will do that to a girl. But Alenna can’t help but stand out when she fails a test that all sixteen-year-olds have to take: The test says she has a high capacity for brutal violence, and so she is sent to The Wheel, an island where all would-be criminals end up.

The life expectancy of prisoners on The Wheel is just two years, but with dirty, violent, and chaotic conditions, the time seems a lot longer as Alenna is forced to deal with civil wars for land ownership and machines that snatch kids out of their makeshift homes. Desperate, she and the other prisoners concoct a potentially fatal plan to flee the island. Survival may seem impossible, but Alenna is determined to ac
hieve it anyway.

 Review:

I fell in love with  YA dystopian fiction! in a heartbeat I was send a copy of The Forsaken   courtesy of the author herself .Lisa M Stasse  (we share the same initials yah!!!) send me the copy  back in mid July but due to personal family issues I could not get to it right away so I do have a guilty conscience on my part but I do apologize and I'm uber excited to have finally been able to read it .

While all the other popular dystopian novels out there The Forsaken, has earned a top spot with the rest of them in my books basically in  a nutshell WOW!!! pretty much sums it up! It has a strong female lead, government conspiracy, a hidden place & its survival of the fittest for everyone in this book so its non stop action from the first page to the last!

The lead female character  Alenna, discovers her strengths as the book progresses on, and by no means is she a wimp ever . She is smart, witty and aware of everything going on around her ,and she has this instinct about her let me tell you its amazing especially since she had a hard upbringing. The Wheel reveals itself through out the book  which I loved it kept you on your toes . The romance between Alenna & Liam is sweet and honest despite a former flame still in the picture by no means is this another YA love triangle .

My Final Thoughts:
The Forsaken is  a book that you never want to put down ever chance I got to read it I did  that's why it only took me 2 days to finish it which now left me wanting book 2 even more  the second book in the series isn't far behind which you best believe I will be counting down the days till its release so do yourself a favor and pick up a copy if you haven't!!!
